A well-known character in Hartford has passed. Jen was the very definition of free spirit: a great defender of the disempowered, a gifted artist, and vocal about her beliefs. (which occasionally got her into trouble) She had a mischiveous sense of humor and was a devoted mother to two daughters. Once upon a time we were sisters-in-law. She taught me to paint with watercolors, and didn't laugh the result. My favorite painting was done by Jen many moons ago, and still hangs in my bedroom. I'm thinking about her family today, still in shock from this sudden loss. The whole Hartford art community has suffered a great loss.
